3D ART
This art class is designed to provide extended and individualized experiences in three-dimensional art forms. Students will enjoy learning new techniques and experiencing new mediums used for designing and production of work. A continuation in examining artists, art trends, and art from other cultures is used to encourage student interpretation and expression in the production of classroom art work. In other words students make art in the round.
So much of our creative lives now involve merely using our fingers to manipulate technology that this class is important if for no other reason than students will have to use their elbows at times to create art in 3D.

Public Art Sculpture Assignment
The Public Art Assignment is a semester long assignment that involves taking your picture with 4 different 3 dimensional art piece around town. Students need to take a picture of themselves and the sculpture and then answer a quick reflection worksheet. This photo does not have to be printed and can simply be them holding their cellphone camera or digital camera with one hand with a part of them and a part of the sculpture in the frame. These don’t even need to be printed. They just need to show the pictures to me and I will check them off. If they do not have a digital camera or cell phone camera, they can show me a photo on their friends phone or they can check out a old (and not very flashy) digital camera form me.
My one request is that they use sculptures not in the Pappa Johns Sculpture Park Downtown because we will be using those sculptures later in the year for something else. Any other sculptures around Urbandale or Des Moines can be used.
Remember 4 photos and 4 write-ups are required throughout the class. The first two responses are due September 27th but feel free to complete all 4. The write-up worksheet can be completed here.
